Iran Flag

When you're talking about something like a national flag you need to remember that there are a number of considerations that go into choosing the flag for your nation. While the argument could go either way for a country like Iran there is something interesting about the whole concept of an Iran flag. Iran has a lot of enemies in the world stage and it is in the country of Iran were a lot of people claim that terrorists are harboring themselves. Having a flag to which these terrorists and other radicals claim allegiance helps to strengthen that their cause and embolden their movement as they all move forward and towards a new end of times.

The flag of Iran very much resembles the flag of a country like Italy. It has three horizontal stripes of green and white and red, and on the white stripe in the middle, sheathed in red is the Iranian coat of arms. The Iranian coat of arms is their symbol but it is basically a representative of their God, Allah, and is a geometrically shaped symbol of the name Allah on itself many times. This symbol is literally a sword with two crescents on either side. The sword is alleged to represent Iran as a sovereign and powerful state; while the crescents are supposed to represent the red tulip which is a symbol of the young people who have died for the state of Iran. This is a sweet thing but it also fosters from a very young age the idea that self-sacrifice and martyrdom are the ultimate calling of every human being. The fact that the sword and crescent can be interpreted as either the name Allah or the symbol of self-sacrifice strongly suggests that the fact that many people who are suicide bombers do so because they believe they're going to get into heaven is a strong case.

While some may think that that is too much are reading into the meaning of the Iranian flag, it is a strong case indeed for the recent rash of terrorism that has gone on in Iran. And it also is a strong reminder for those who don't believe in the cause of self-sacrifice or martyrdom that there is much else to be had in this life.
